What a hidden gem! 18 of us attended this top-notch fish fry. We gave St Clement 4.5 fish 🐟🐟🐟🐟 on the 5 fish scale. The hand breaded fried cod was the best we have had all season. Rated a 5, it was crispy outside, moist and flaky inside, and HOT! So, so good. The baked cod was also a 5. The “rare” hand breaded shrimp was also a 5, perfectly cooked and very hot. Those who had shrimp as a meal commented that they only got 4 shrimp. Most other places give a standard 6 shrimp with a dinner, plus these were smaller than usual, making the meal a little lacking. But, they tasted great! The seasoned Tilapia was a 5, but the salmon was only rated 3.5 as most people said it was not hot and dry/over cooked. All of the side dishes were homemade and delicious! Green beans were canned but nicely seasoned and very good, a 4.5. Slaw, Mac & cheese were also 5.0. Some different and delicious sides were roasted potatoes, fresh salad, and homemade potato chips, all 5.0. Sadly they did not offer our group favorite…hush puppies. Desserts were homemade and included, but a donation for a scholarship fund was encouraged. Desserts were all voted a 5 as well! There were plenty of volunteers and everyone was super friendly. There was virtually no wait and plenty of seating. St Clement lost a few points for “skimpy” shrimp dinners, Styrofoam plates, and packaged tartar sauce. But they earned extra points back for the best cod this season and excellent homemade sides (“sides matter”!). Well done St Clement! Join us if you can, next week on Good Friday for our last Fish Fry at St Gabriel.

Thank you for stopping by. We appreciate the patronage….. Glad you liked everything. We’ll work on those portions next season. We appreciate the feedback. Cheers
