The cod was so flavorful; we rated it a 5! The shrimp was also a 5, hot, crisp and tender inside. The side dishes are all made in house. They offered slaw, green beans, French fries, mac & cheese, and red sauce pasta, all were rated 5. Excellent, fresh, and hot. They also had hush puppies. Our entire group agreed they were the best hushpuppies we have had! Real corn inside, soft inside, crispy outside. Not greasy or dried out as many places have had. Each meal comes with a home baked cookie. Meals included tea, lemonade, or water. Beer, wine, and homemade margaritas were available for purchase. Best of all, St Gabe’s uses real plates, and real silverware. This year they even had homemade tartar sauce, which was excellent! Thank you St Gabe’s!! We waited in line about 30 minutes, some waited 45. But, volunteers passed out free beer as we waited! Well done! It was pretty warm and loud in the cafeteria, but there were plenty of seats for us to all sit together. It was a perfect way to end the fish fry season. Thank you St Gabe’s for all your hard work. You have the best fish fry in St Louis!
