St Mark (Lemay) – April 11, 2025
We had a big crowd of 15 Fish Fry Followers tonight at St Mark. Overall, St Mark earned 3 fish πππ on the 5 fish scale. Volunteers were very friendly and greeted us warmly. They suggested we go through the βto goβ line, even though we wanted to dine in, and take our food to the gym since that line was much shorter. We only waited in line about 10 minutes. We were told the fish was hand breaded and the sides were all made in house. We had great expectations! Very generous portions. In addition to fried cod, they had seasoned baked cod and Jack Salmon. Everyone in our group, however, was disappointed in the fried cod. The cod was rated 2.5. The cod was not hot, and tough/rubbery texture. The baked cod and Jack Salmon were rated a 3. The shrimp was rated 4, but also was not hot and some were overcooked, some needed to be crispier. The sides were better than the fish. The vinegar slaw was crisp and tangy, rated 4.5. The green beans were canned but seasoned and had lots of onions in them, rated a 4.5. The Mac & Cheese was creamy and the spaghetti was nicely seasoned, both rated a 4.0. They had hushpuppies, which were crispy and tasty, rated a 5. Desserts were included with the meals, and had mixed reviews. We sat at nice big round tables, sturdy folding chairs in the school gym. Salt and pepper were on the table. Packaged tartar and cocktail sauces again. Volunteers were friendly, but no one cleared our plates when we finished eating. Big bonus! Chinet plates instead of Styrofoam! What a nice change! Overall, our opinion is that the sides were very good, and the Chinet plates were a nice bonus, very generous portions, however they lost points since the cod was not very good. And a fish fry is all about the cod. Next week we are scheduled to go to St Ferdinand. Bill and I will not be there as we will be vacationing in Hawaii! Enjoy the last fish fry of the season and let us know how it is. Thanks for a great season! We will post additional fish fries we visit throughout the year!

St Paul (Fenton) – April 4, 2025
Hello FFF friends! As I was building my ark today, I decided it was not wise to drive so far into Illinois with all the storms today, so we decided to go to a closer Fish Fry. We decided to visit St Paul in Fenton. We were there in 2017, and gave them a 3.75 rating. Tonight, St Paul earned another solid 3.75 fish πππ on the 5 fish scale. The food was an improvement over the past few weeks as their food was HOT! The cod (4.0) was nicely seasoned, crispy breading, hot and flaky. The shrimp (4.0) was also hot and crispy, not over cooked. They also offered tilapia, which we did not try. The sides are reportedly all made in house. The vinegar slaw (rated 3.0) was crisp and tangy. The green beans (3.5) were canned, but hot, nicely seasoned with pepper, garlic, and onions. A refreshing improvement from typical FF canned beans. The spaghetti (4.0) was nicely seasoned, but slightly mushy. They also offered onion rings (4.5), and mac & cheese, but no one tried the mac & cheese. Sadly they did not have hush puppies, one of our groupβs favorites. A nice variety of desserts was included, mostly homemade, some store bought. My English toffee chocolate chip blonde brownie was fantastic! A small variety of beer was available for a donation. Water and tea were included, as a matter of fact a volunteer brought us water and tea to our table. So nice! And there were plenty of volunteers to clear the tables as we finished eating. The food was served on Styrofoam plates, and plastic silverware (not our favorite). Sadly tartar sauce and cocktail sauce was low quality packets. We sat at tables made for elementary school kids with small stools attached to the table. Very poor seating, especially for us older folks. St Paul had plenty of very friendly volunteers, the food was pretty good, and very hot, which was a bonus. But they lost points with the Styrofoam plates, packets of tartar/cocktail sauce, and poor seating. We would try coming again, especially if they provide real tables and folding chairs. Join us next week at St Markβs in Lemay!

St Genevieve Du Bois – March 28, 2025
St Genevieve Du Bois was a great find! We gave St Gen an overall score of 4.0 ππππ on the 5 fish scale. St Genevieve seemed a little pricey at $20/plate, and no options (other than fried or baked cod). However, the price included cod, slaw, green beans, mac &. cheese, and cornbread. It also included bottled water, juice, or lemonade, and a fresh baked cookie. So the price seemed fair. Beer and wine were available for a donation. The food was catered from Hollyberry Catering. Both the fried cod and baked cod (4.0) were very tasty, but were not hot. The cod servings seemed a little small as well. The creamy slaw (4.5) was nicely seasoned. The FRESH green beans were about the best we have had at any fish fry! We unanimously gave them a 5.0. And the mac & cheese was white cheese, creamy, and the pasta cooked perfectly. Also, a unanimous 5.0 and maybe the best we have had at a fish fry. Although there were no hushpuppies, they did have cornbread muffins which were fantastic (not too sweet), also a 5.0. The sides were all generous portions and exceptionally delicious, but again, the food was not hot. They had packaged tartar sauce and cocktail sauce by Kenβs sauces which were better quality and much tastier than some of the packets at previous fish fries. The chocolate chip cookies (with a salt finish) were homemade by the Carmelite nuns and they were fantastic! We really had no wait to pay or get our food, but a long line formed later. The food was served on Styrofoam plates with plastic silverware. Although Styrofoam plates are not our favorite, it was a step up from the clam shell containers the past two weeks. We sat at round tables with padded chairs in the loud gymnasium. There were balloons on the tables which were a cheerful addition. The volunteers were very friendly, many came up to our table to chat with us. Volunteers also came to remove our trash as we finished eating. Overall St Genevieve was an excellent fish fry. We would have loved to give them a higher score, but the lukewarm food dropped the score a bit. The sides were excellent, but we come for the cod, at it was not hot and fresh. Regardless, we highly recommend St Genevieve Du Bois. Join us next week at Turner Hall in Smithton IL.

Holy Trinity (Fairview Heights IL) – March 24, 2025
Sorry for the late post, friends. We were out of town all weekend with poor internet and phone service. But here goes! Our small group of 6 people made the trek across the Mississippi to Holy Trinity. But that is OK, as we were all underwhelmed. We gave Holy Trinity a (very generous) overall score of 3.0 πππ on the 5 fish scale. The food was average, at best, but there were many negatives that brought down the score more. Letβs start with the ordering process. It was a short wait, 10 minutes, to order our food. The prices were higher than most fish fries, $15.00 a plate as opposed to about $12 at most other fish fries. And, this is the only fish fry, in over 15 years of going to different fish fries, that charged tax on each meal!! Unbelievable! Then the long waitβ¦35 minutes standing in line after ordering to get our food. That was a total of 45 minutes. The main reason for going to fish fries is the fried cod. Holy Trinity was only able to muster a 3.0 on the cod. To its credit, the cod was hand breaded with cornmeal breading. Each piece was uniquely shaped indicating real fish pieces. To the negative, however, almost every piece was close to room temp, overcooked, and dry. And very salty. No one ordered the baked cod this week, but that is OK since they ran out early. The fried shrimp (4.0) was tasty, but also not hot. The vinegar slaw (3.0) was supposedly made in house, but was too sweet and had a strong taste from preservatives. Canned green beans were rated 2.0. French Fries were rated a 5.0, but may have enjoyed such a high rating as they had just brought out a fresh batch when we got to the front of the line. The Mac & Cheese was terrible! We gave it a 1.0, as it tasted like canned βChef Boyardeeβ. One person called it βinedibleβ. The hush puppies were given a 4.0, as they were tasty and had real corn in them. But, they were greasy and again they were not hot. Spaghetti might have been the high point with a 4.0, it was flavorful and not mushy. They also offered onion rings which were rated a 4.0, but again not hot. Desserts were offered for an extra charge. Most were store bought, a few looked like cake mix slices. They did sell soda, beer, wine, and cocktails as well. All food was served in Styrofoam clam shell containers, even for those of us dining in. That was a big negative! Use plates, please, for dine in orders! There was no water available for free! Again, this is the first fish fry in over 15 years that did not offer water, tea, and/or lemonade included with the meal. We had to pay for water! Unbelievable. All of the volunteers seemed stressed and were not very interactive with our group. There were no students around to help with clearing our tables (also most fish fries have students helping). Overall, not one thing at Holy Trinity βwowedβ us. Especially considering the long wait and high prices (plus TAX!) The hot food was not hot. The sides were overly processed and again, not hot. And the Styrofoam clam shell containers for indoor dining were a big negative. Holy Trinity has a lot of work to do to make their fish fry competitive.

The Quail Club – March 17, 2025
This week we ventured across the Mississippi river into Illinois. The Quail club earned an overall score of 3.75 πππ on the 5 fish scale. The fried cod (3.5) was hand breaded with a cornmeal breading. It was small chunks instead of large pieces. Everyone said it was not hot, but it was flaky and tender. The breading was overly salty. The baked cod (4.0) was flavorful. The fried shrimp (5.0) was hot, crispy, and flavorful. They also offered Pollock which was (4.5). Since the Quail club is not a Catholic church, they also offered chicken tenders (5.0), hamburgers and other meaty offerings. The side dishes boosted the overall score. The in-house made vinegar coleslaw was fantastic, unanimously a 5.0. The potato salad (4.5) and stewed tomatoes (4.5) were also made in house. The stewed tomatoes were a nice change of pace for a side dish. They also offered french fries (4.5), onion rings (5.0), mac and cheese (3.0), and hush puppies (3.0). Desserts (cakes and pies) were an additional $3. They lost a few points by using styrofoam plates and plastic silverware, and low quality condiment packets. They gained points for being very organized, efficient, and friendly. And they had a full bar. Overall, the Quail Club was a good, solid, average fish fry. Join us next week when we go to Holy Trinity Church in Fairview Heights, IL.

Saint Gabriel the Archangel – March 7, 2025
Welcome to the 2025 FFF season! We have traditionally kept βthe best for lastβ with St Gabe, but this year we decided to start the season off with our favorite Fish Fry. It was great to be recognized and greeted by the volunteers. What a great group of friendly people! We had 14 fish fry friends this week who gave St Gabe a 5.0 on the 5 fish scale. As always the fried cod was unanimously a 5.0. It was hand breaded, super hot, crispy outside, flaky inside, and had that amazing cod flavor. The baked cod had mixed reviewsβ¦good flavor but one person said it was hot and another said theirs was cold. The fried shrimp was unanimously a 5.0, being hot and crispy. St Gabe is very generous with their sides. Most are made in house and very good. Their vinegar slaw was rated a 4.75, crisp and flavorful. The canned green beans were a solid 4. French Fries had mixed reviews, all said they were crisp but some hot and some cold. Mac and cheese and red pasta were both a solid 4, both were not mushy! Quite and accomplishment for a fish fry! Each meal came with a βbaked in houseβ chocolate chip cookie which was rated a 4.5. Tea, lemonade, and water were provided with the meal. Beer and wine for purchase. BUT, one of our favorite things about St Gabeβs is that they pass out complimentary beers while you wait in line! π St Gabeβs lost some points on the little packets of tartar sauce. Cβmon guys! You make so many things in house, tartar sauce is pretty simple and would taste so much better with your amazing fish. But they also earned extra points for using real plates, silverware, and passing our beer in line. Everyone there is so very friendly. We greatly enjoy our experience there every year. Way to go St Gabes! You remain our favorite FF in St Louis!

Shrewsbury American Legion Post 111 – June 1, 2024
When you get a craving for a good fish fry, and itβs not lentβ¦try an American Legion Post! We had 13 FFF friends join us on a beautiful spring day for this great fish fry. ALP111 scored 4.0 ππππ on the 5 fish scale. They offered a very extensive menu with many choices. The fried cod was very good, hot, flaky and scored a 4.5. They also offered Jack Salmon rated 4, Catfish rated 3, Shrimp Po Boy rated 4, and Fried shrimp rated 4.5. Since it is not Lent, they also offered Brats rated 5 and Chicken fingers rated 5. They had quite a variety of sides as well. Each meal came with 2 sides. We had a choice of creamy slaw rated 4 or vinegar rated 5. Green beans had bacon and were a 3.5. Hush puppies were 4, toasted ravioli was 4 (no sauce offered), spaghetti was 5, and chili 4. Desserts were offered for an extra cost. Everyone raved about the lemon cake! Definitely a 5. All beverages were also an extra charge, and they had a full bar inside the main building. It was a beautiful day, so we all sat together outside at picnic tables in the shade. A few lost points on the packaged tartar sauce and Styrofoam clam shell containers. Overall a great fish fry. I guess Iβm out of practice too, as I forgot to take a picture. We recommend going to Shrewsbury if you need a good fish fry in the off season. Keep an eye on this blog, we will be trying a few more places this summer.
On the Hook Food Truck – April 6, 2024
Well we made an impromptu visit to the On the Hook food truck which was located in Chesterfield yesterday. It was fantastic! I am giving them an overall rating of 4.5 ππππ fish on the 5 fish scale. Their βline caught wild codβ was excellent! The beer batter hand breaded cod was super hot and flaky with a nice crisp breading. We gave the fish a 5. The βchipsβ were beer batter fries and also very hot and crisp, also a 5. Totally delicious lunch. Although it was served in a clam shell container, it was not Styrofoam but recycled paper which is much preferred. They offered no other sides or drinks. Cod and chips. That was it. On the plus side, βmake what youβre good at and make it goodβ rang true for them. The food was excellent. However, as you know, we believe βsides matterβ! So the lack of side options was a little disappointing. They did not have napkins or plastic forks to eat the food with. The lack of napkins was rather unpleasant when eating greasy fish with your fingers. The food truck was in a bank parking lot, so there was no place to sit and eat other than our car. We did see a group of friends who were prepared and brought folding chairs and a table! There were also no drinks available, not even water. And no trash can for our trash. So, overall, the food was fantastic! A few unexpected hiccups caused us to lower the score a tad. Next time we will be better prepared. We highly recommend looking them up on Facebook, follow them and when they are in the area again, go! We will certainly go back.

St. Gabriel the Archangel – March 29, 2024
Once again, St Gabriel comes through. St Gabeβs proves that you CAN serve hot, crispy, delicious cod at large scale fish fries! Apparently 32 years of fish fries has taught them a lot. Way to go, St Gabe! This week we had a small group of 8 savor the goodness. I am giving St Gabeβs a 5.0 πππππ on the 5 fish scale. The hand breaded fried cod was unanimously a 5.0. Thick, flaky, hot, and crispy filets were outstanding. They also offered baked cod which was thick, hot, and flaky but somewhat bland rated a 4. The fried shrimp were also hot and crisp, rated a 5. They also offered swai, but no one in our group tried that. So, you all know we believe βsides matterβ. Most of their sides were homemade. The vinegar slaw was a 5, nicely seasoned and crisp. Mac & cheese was luke warm, but creamy and not mushy like most fish fries have been, rated 4. Red pasta was nicely seasoned, rated 5. We were pleased to have hush puppies again, rated 4. French fries were warm and crispy, rated 4. The canned green beans were pretty mushy and bland. Each meal included a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie. So, St Gabeβs fried cod is judged to be the best we have found. And, they serve their food on real plates and real silverware. A great bonus in our opinion. (And that pushed them to a 5.0 rating.) They give very generous portions and even let us choose extra sides that we wanted to try. They now have all nice big plastic tables and sturdy folding chairs, a huge improvement from the childrenβs folding cafeteria tables from a few years ago. Thanks St Gabeβs! We were delighted to have several volunteers recognize us from years past, greeted our group, and welcomed us back! The wait was 40 minutes, but people were so friendly and volunteers were passing our free beer while we waited in line. Another great bonus! St Gabeβs had a very fun and friendly atmosphere. They were showing March Madness on a big screen TV. They lost a few points for their prepackaged tartar sauce. St Gabeβs, you have the best cod in St Louis, please make some homemade tartar sauce to compliment your amazing cod! And in this off season, look for some recipes to improve your green beans. If you all are looking for a good fish fry, St Gabrielβs is our top pick.
Itβs hard to believe this is the end of Fish Fry season. We determined we have been to 93 fish fries over the years with 57 unique venues! Thatβs a lot of fish! Please follow my blog, as we hope to go to a few fish fries in the off season, and you can receive notifications to join us. Thanks for making this a great season.

St. Mary Magdalen – March 22, 2024
Wow! The food at St Mary Magdalen βGodβs Codβ fish fry was fantastic! 12 of us feasted on this amazing meal this week. Overall, we gave SMM 4.75 fish ππππ on the 5 fish scale. The hand breaded cod unanimously scored 5.0. The breading was nicely seasoned, the fish was flaky and moist, although not hot. The shrimp also scored 5.0, it was hot, crispy, and juicy. They also offered baked salmon but no one in our group ordered that. The fish tacos were only a 3. A large piece of cod and shredded cabbage in a flour tortilla, with a packet of salsa. hmmm. Now, you all know, βsides matterβ! SMM had amazing homemade sides. A great variety different from most fish fries. They offered a creamy slaw which was a nice change from the frequent vinegar slaws most fish fries serve. The slaw was rated a 5. They also had green beans almondine! Unanimously rated a 5, they had a delicious garlic and Parmesan seasoning along with almond slivers. They had hush puppies! Rated a 5, we were happy to get our first hush puppies of the season! 3 bean salad, Parmesan chips, and gumbo were all rated 4.5. The mac and cheese was rated a 3, somewhat dry and bland. Dinners included homemade desserts, a great variety of cakes and cookies, all rated a 5. Soda, beer, wine, and margaritas were available for purchase. Our group was able to sit together at a sturdy plastic table with sturdy plastic chairs. We waited about 40 minutes in line for our food. The parking was terrible! Very crowed and we parked across the street. We really loved the food at SMM. The cod might have been the best this year, and the sides were fantastic. We really, really wanted to give them a 5.0. But we just could not. There were 2 significant issues that prevented a perfect score. First of all, all the food was served in styrofoam clam shell containers. Styrofoam plates are always a disappointment, but the clam shell containers make the delicious crisp fish soggy very quickly, and they are clumsy to eat out of. The second issue was the very poor quality tartar sauce packets. SMM, you have this fantastic hand breaded fish, and amazing homemade sides, you should consider making homemade tartar sauce. It is pretty simple and would make your amazing fish fry even better. All in all, SMM is one of the best fish fries in St Louis. We greatly enjoyed them.
Please join us next week for our final fish fry of the season at St Gabrielβs in St Louis Hills. Hope to see you there!

Crestwood Elks – March 15, 2024
Hello Fish Fry Followers! If you missed the Crestwood Elks, you missed a great Fish Fry! Our biggest group this season, 23 fish fry friends descended upon this amazing venue. Crestwood Elks earned 4.75 fish ππππ on the 5 fish scale! Our fun night began with amazing cod, 5.0, was hand breaded with a light cornmeal breading. It was HOT, flaky, and tender. Just delicious! They also offered swaii which was also rated 5. The shrimp was only rated a 3, as most people reported it to be crispy outside but the shrimp was mushy inside. Although we were there for the fish, they also offered fried chicken! Hand breaded and cooked perfectly, hot and juicy, the chicken was rated 5.0 by everyone. Now, you know we come for the fish, but βsides matterβ! They offered 2 sides with each meal. Homemade vinegar slaw was fantastic! Earning a 4.5, it was crisp and tangy, very fresh tasting. Homemade au gratin potatoes were also 4.5. Delicious and creamy. Homemade spaghetti, a 4.5, was nicely seasoned and flavorful. The canned green beans were very tasty and well seasoned, also 4.5. The crispy french fries were 4.0. They had homemade tartar sauce and cocktail sauce, both were very tasty. After dinner they offered ice cream sandwiches and Snickers ice cream bars for only $1. They had a full bar which was a nice bonus. Unfortunately they served their food on Styrofoam plates and had (good quality) plastic silverware. After checking in and paying for our food, we sat at nice, sturdy tables and padded chairs, waiting about 30 minutes for our food. But it was worth the wait because it was so fresh and hot. We sat in a banquet hall, it was nicer and a little quieter than most church fish fries, a little more intimate with our friends. After dinner, there was live music to enjoy. This was a nice bonus as we are usually booted out of church fish fries at 7 so they can clean up and leave. The music was nice, not too loud, so we could still talk amongst our group. We gave Crestwood Elks a 4.75. They lost a few points on the Styrofoam plates and plastic silverware. I can understand not wanting to, or having the ability to wash dishes, but maybe something better quality than cheap Styrofoam would be nice to serve this amazing food on. but, they earned points back with their friendliness, welcoming atmosphere, and live music afterwards. Well done Elks! We look forward to coming back for that amazing chicken!

St. Pius – March 8, 2024
Welcome to Week 3! Itβs hard to believe itβs half-way through the fish fry season already. This week we had a small group of 7 faithful fish fry followers. St Pius received 4 fish ππππ on the 5 fish scale. They offered fried cod, baked cod, and fried catfish. Their fish was hand breaded and deep fried. The cod was nice, thick, perfectly cooked and flaky. However the breading was soggy and the fish was not hot. That was a little disappointing, so we gave the cod a 4. The baked cod was well seasoned and also received a 4. No one in our group ordered the catfish. The sides included homemade (vinegar) slaw rated 5, mac & cheese rated 5, and potato salad rated 4. They also offered βseasonedβ green beans, which were very bland, and rated a 3. Homemade desserts were included and most were pretty good. St Pius received bonus points for using real plates and silverware, homemade tartar sauce, and the first fish fry this season to have real lemons! The atmosphere was friendly but very loud, as a live band was there playing music. The band was very good and interactive with the crowd. They apparently remodeled the cafeteria since we last visited and it was nice and bright. We all got to sit together which is always fun. We had a very long waitβ¦55 minutes, much of it outside in the cold, wind, and drizzle. But people were friendly and it went quickly. We enjoyed our time at St Pius and recommend them.
If you are new to this blog, please check out our schedule for the rest of the year, and our spreadsheet rating all the fish fries we have been to the past 15 years or so.

St. Clement of Rome – March 1, 2024
Hello! We had 12 faithful fish fry followers join us this week at St Clement of Rome. This was an excellent Fish Fry, receiving 4.5 fish ππππ on the 5 fish scale. Their fried cod was amazing! It was hand-breaded, hot, flaky, and had that distinctive cod flavor. The shrimp was also hand-breaded, crispy, hot, and tender with a very tasty breading. Both the fried cod and shrimp received a 5 fish rating. They also offered baked cod, rated 3 as it was dry and did not have much flavor. The salmon also rated a 3 was tasty but also dry and not hot. They also offered tilapia but no one in our group tried that. Most of their sides were made in-house. They offered fresh salad which was a nice bonus as most fish fries do not have salad, and a wonderful 5 fish salad it was! Lots of dark greens with tomatoes, onions, croutons, a little heavy on the dressing but still amazing! The creamy slaw, green beans, mac & cheese all received a 4, while the roasted potatoes (seasoned with tomatoes, red bell peppers, and onions) were also rated a 5. They also offered applesauce and french fries which were not made in-house. Homemade desserts were available for a donation and rated a 5. For drinks, they had tea, water, and lemonade with the dinners. Soda and beer were available for purchase. Sadly, St Clement used styrofoam plates and no lemons were found. A word of caution, they fry everything in peanut oil. It was delicious and a wonderful improvement to the typical canola oil, but can be an issue to anyone with peanut allergies. Overall an excellent fish fry, however they lost a few points on the packaged tartar sauce, very uncomfortable folding cafeteria tables, and very poor quality plastic silverware. We greatly enjoyed St Clement of Rome and we look forward to returning in the future.
Please join us next week at St Pius, a wonderful Irish church in the city! See you there!

Holy Trinity Serbian – February 23, 2024
We have been to Holy Trinity several times in the past and it has been very good. Tonight was another excellent night! We had a nice group of faithful Fish Fry Friday Friends, 23 total tonight. Overall, we gave Holy Trinity 4.5 fishes ππππ on the 5 fish scale! Their baked cod with creole sauce was rated a 4. It was tender, flaky, and the creole sauce was flavorful without being too spicy. The catfish was rated a 4, it was spicy but most people said it was too salty. The breaded shrimp was nice and crisp. They also offered shrimp cocktail, rated a 5, shrimp tacos rated a 5, and shrimp Po Boys rated a 4. Most of the food was not very hot but still very tasty. Homemade tartar sauce was very good. The (mostly homemade) sides were excellent. They offered homemade slaw for which there was no consensus. The ratings ranged from 1 to 5, with the average at 3.5. However the Queen really liked it (I gave it a 5), as it had lots of veggies in it, including bell peppers, was crisp and tangy. The sauteed veggies were unanimously rated a 5, crisp and delicious. Sauteed veggies were a nice alternative to the typical bland canned green beans at most fish fries. The french fries were rated a 4, nice and crispy, and also the Serbian rice was also a 4. Several people expressed a wish for hush puppies. (Hint-Hint Holy Trinity!) Desserts were included which was a nice bonus as most churches charge extra. However, desserts were rated only a 3, but the baklava (which they ran out of) was a 4.5. In addition, Holy Trinity offered a full bar which is always a nice bonus. They served the food on real ceramic plates which was very nice, but poor quality plastic forks were disappointing. It was quite crowded β which is a sign of a good fish fry β and we waited in line over 30 minutes (some as long as 45 minutes). We were blessed to be able to all sit together in the overflow tent. Our group had a great time at Holy Trinity and we look forward to going again in the future.

Ottβs Tavern – February 11, 2024
Our preseason kickoff at Ottβs Tavern was a success!βWe had 19 people join us for our first fish fry of the season.β Ottβs Tavern received an overall score of 3.75 fish πππ on the 5 fish scale!βOttβs is a tavern with a regular menu, and on the weekends have their fish fry.βThe fried cod (4.0) was hand breaded, hot and delicious!β(Some people said theirs was tough, but mine was very tender.)βSlaw (4.5) was homemade and very good, oil/vinegar with a touch of mayo.βCrisp and tangy.βThe fries (4.0) were good, although some people said theirs were not hot.βSome non-fish eaters had burgers (4.0) that were also pretty good.βSome folks had hushpuppies (4.0) as an appetizer.βThe fish portions seemed small, and the fish dinners had no options.βThey all came with fried cod, slaw, and fries.βAs a tavern, they also had a full bar.βMeals were served on paper plates (not styrofoam!βThank you!) with plastic silverware.βAlthough it was quite loud in our area, people were very friendly and we had a wonderful waitress.βThe owner came out and talked with us a while, told us the history of the tavern and gave us a little tour of the property.βOverall it was a great experience, good food and lots of fun.β
St. Gabriel the Archangel – April 7, 2023
Winner! Winner! Fried cod dinner! St Gabriel again did not disappoint us! This year we gave St. Gabe 4.75 fish ππππ on the 5 fish scale! It was a beautiful sunny evening this week, a nice change from the cold rainy Fridays the past few weeks. The 15 of us arrived to a long line out the door and into the parking lot. It took about 40 minutes to get to the food, but good friends and free beer made it a pleasant experience. Thanks St Gabe for the free beer in line! Now to the best partβ¦the fried cod! I donβt know how they do it every year, but they have the BEST tasting cod every year. Hand breaded, crispy outside, hot, tender and flaky inside, it melts in your mouth. The baked cod was also delicious. Hot, flaky, and not overcooked. The breaded shrimp was also excellent, hot, tender, and such good flavor. All the fish and the shrimp were all rated 5. One person had the pizza and gave it a 3. Some of the sides were definitely a 5. The slaw was vinegar based, tasty, crisp and fresh. The hush puppies were very good as well. The mac & cheese was a 4, it was creamy and cheesy but also had a spicy kick to it. Not everyone likes spicy, so that was unexpected. Maybe give a heads-up next time so people know. The red pasta was rated a 4 as well. The fries were average, and the green beans were pretty bland canned beans. The good part was they give you as many sides as you want! No other fish fry does that! Dinners included a chocolate chip cookie that was pretty good. Also included was water, tea, and lemonade. Beer and wine was available for purchase. They got a few extra points for using real plates and silverware, and for wonderful and very friendly volunteers. They lost a few points on the packaged tartar and cocktail sauce. Overall St Gabrielβs remains a favorite of ours. Suggestions for next yearβ¦look up some good vegan green bean recipes, and some tartar sauce recipes. We look forward to going back next year!

Salt & Smoke – March 31, 2023
Well, the 12 of us who once again braved the weather were certainly not disappointed! Salt & Smoke is our first 5 fish πππππ fish fry of the season! Way to go, Salt & Smoke! Salt & Smoke is a BBQ restaurant but they offer fried fish on Fridays during Lent. They continue to offer their full menu but also offer their fish. It is a sit-down restaurant with waitresses which was a nice change from our traditional cafeteria style fish fries. Instead of the traditional cod, they offered hand breaded beer batter haddock, and boy was it delicious! Thick cuts of hot, tender, and flaky fish were surrounded by crispy beer batter. Some of our group also ordered the brisket (rated a 5) or salads (4.5). They had quite a variety of sides and they were all fantastic, all rated a 5: slaw (vinegar based, crisp and tangy), green bean and tomato salad (a cold salad, crisp and fresh), mac & cheese (hot, crispy cracker crumbs mixed in, creamy, oh so good!), cheesy potatoes with bacon, baked beans, and sweet potato chips. The creamed corn was only rated a 3. And, the oh so delicious fried chicken skins! Oh my! They offered a full bar where I ordered an βOooh La Lavenderβ martini that was amazing! It was a nice change to eat off of real plates with real silverware instead of disposable. A nice, calm atmosphere with a fantastic waitress named Erica. She was not flustered by our big group and was very kind and efficient. We highly recommend Salt & Smoke for their fish fry, but also for their BBQ! Make sure and stop by sometime. I have a challenge for S & Sβ¦next year try offering smoked fish! mmmm!

St. John Paul ll Catholic Church – March 24, 2023
We had a great time at St John Paul, in spite of the cold rainy weather, 12 of us ventured out and gave St John Paul 3.25 fish πππ on the 5 fish scale. Overall, the food tasted better than it looked. The fried cod was pre-formed, pre-breaded rectangles. It looked disappointing but was quite tasty. It was crispy outside and tender inside. The hand-breaded catfish was rated a 5! The shrimp was rated a 4, crispy and tender. They also offered tilapia which was reportedly dry. Some of their sides were homemade. The homemade mostaccoli had a zesty sauce and the mac & cheese was creamy, both pastas were a little overcooked but tasty. The slaw needed more sauce and I could taste the preservatives on it. The green beans were typical canned green beans, not seasoned and bland. French fries were decent, seasoned and hot. The hush puppies were a little overcooked but decent, regardless. They also offered toasted cheese ravioli, the first time we saw these at a fish fry! They were hot and the cheese was creamy. Deserts were offered for an extra cost. Bags of chocolate chip cookies and small pies were available. They looked like store bought cookies but were reportedly baked in house. They were rated a 1.5 regardless. The atmosphere was a typical loud school cafeteria. The big, round tables and padded folding chairs were nice. Another pleasant touch was baskets of napkins, forks, and condiments on the tablesβ¦and real salt and pepper shakers! They also had packets of Cholula hot sauce which was a bonus! There was a small supply of City Wide by 4 Hands Brewing in addition to typical Bud Light and Bud Select. The cafeteria was down a flight of stairs which was difficult for those of us with physical disabilities. Overall, St John Paul was an average fish fry. We enjoyed the food and friends.

Agape Grub – March 17, 2023
Tonight, 11 of us ventured up to Ferguson to Agape Grub restaurant. Agape Grub was very good. They earned 3.75 fish πππ on the 5 fish scale. Interestingly, the fish had very mixed reviews. The fish options included jack salmon, catfish, and shrimp. All were fresh and hand breaded. I ordered the jack salmon, but I also tried each of the fish and thought they were all excellent. The jack salmon was hot , tender and flaky with a cornmeal breading. The catfish was hot, flaky, and very meaty with a cornmeal breading. The shrimp was hot and tender with a batter breading. The homemade tartar sauce was excellent! It was nice to have some good tartar sauce for a change! They also offered chicken strips which were rated a 5. Their creamy slaw was homemade and rated a 4. The green beans were canned but hot in both temperature and spice! We gave them a 5. The mac & Cheese was rated a 3, hot and creamy. Their special was fried rice. They had plain, shrimp, and chicken fried rice. The rice was ok, somewhat bland, and had no veggies in it. A few carrots and peas would have be nice. We ordered at the counter and they brought the food to our tables. Even though we were dining in, the food was served in styrofoam to-go boxes. Since we were eating there, it would have been nice to have our food on (disposable) plates, or even the paper βboatsβ they gave us. The restaurant was quiet, peaceful, and calm. The staff was so friendly and helpful. There was peaceful music playing overhead, a nice alternative to the loud fish fries we often attend. At one point there were bagpipe players outside on the sidewalk! (Nice, since it was St Patrickβs Day!) We appreciated the scriptures printed on the wall. They also feed the homeless and had a donation box available to help. Overall, the food was pretty good, they lost a few points with the styrofoam to go boxes and flimsy plastic forks, but gained some points back with the friendliness, atmosphere, music, and helping the homeless. I would go back again if I were in the neighborhood. Oh, I have to apologize! I forgot to take a picture this week. Sorry All!!
St. Henryβs Catholic Church, Belleville – March 10, 2023
St Henryβs was a very pleasant surprise! Definitely worth the trip across the river. I was so happy to see 11 friends show up this week in spite of the drive. Thanks everyone! St Henryβs earned 4.5 fish ππππ on the 5 fish scale. The fried cod was fantastic! Hand breaded with a cornmeal breading, it was flaky, hot, crisp, and the breading had a little kick to it. They also offered baked salmon which was tender and moist with a strong seasoning blend. The fried shrimp were good, crisp and hot. The homemade slaw was exceptionally delicious! Maybe the best I have had. Almost everyone rated it a 5. The Spaghetti was also excellent, nicely seasoned sauce, 5 points. They also offered hush puppies and onion rings which were also rated a 5. Their french fries were not good at all, everyone gave them a 1. The mac & cheese looked so creamy and good, but tasted bland and like cheap processed cheese sauce. Rumor has it that the fish breading, homemade slaw and spaghetti recipes are kept under lock and key, and the cooks are sworn to secrecy when they make them! Lol If this is true, it is worth keeping the secret because they were all so delicious! They offered beer, wine, soda, and desserts for an extra cost. The event was held in the school gym. It was very crowded and noisy. There were no instructions on where to go and how to order, which was a bit confusing. The ordering lines were short, but then we waited in a second line for a good 30 minutes to get our food. Volunteers seemed a little confused and flustered. Food was served on styrofoam plates with plastic forks. There was cheap packaged tartar sauce, but no cocktail sauce to be found. Overall, St Henryβs was fantastic! They lost a few points with the fries, plates, and condiments, and log wait. Good job St Henryβs! Well worth the drive.

Our Lady of the Pillar – March 3, 2023
Overall an excellent fish fry! We gave OLP 4.25 fish ππππ on the 5 fish scale! 12 faithful research crew members came this week. Unfortunately the fried cod was the low point of the event. The fish patties were thin, pre-formed, trapezoid shaped patties with little taste. They were hot and crisp though. The fried shrimp and baked salmon were both excellent! The salmon was nicely seasoned and not dried out, an amazing thing for bulk cooking. They also offered baked cod, but no one in our group tried it. The homemade slaw was excellent, crisp and tangy. Homemade mac & cheese was hot, creamy, and delicious. Spaghetti was also excellent. They also offered traditional canned green beans, tater tots, and steamed brown rice. Desserts were an extra cost, but a nice variety, homemade and all were excellent. The setting was mostly in the school gym with big round tables. Noisy but comfortable. We sat in an overflow room that was much quieter. A few things lowered the overall score including the fried cod, Styrofoam plates and plastic silverware, and canola oil. But, there were some other great things that raised it back up. The homemade sides and salmon, for one! Also, there was excellent signage directing us where to go on a large campus. Also, vases of fresh flowers on all the tables, very friendly staff, and lots of friendly and helpful kids to help carry our food to the table. A nice strong community feel to the place. And, of course, we were given a few bottles of wine to share with our group! Overall, we highly recommend OLP, just go for the salmon instead of the cod!

Tower Grove Baptist Church – February 24, 2023
Welcome to the season opener of Fish Fry Friday 2023! This week 8 of us began the season at Tower Grove Baptist. Little did we know this was the first time they have offered dine in service for the fish fry, so we were the test group! Tower Grove Baptist earned 2.75 fish ππ on the 5 fish scale. We eventually found the fish fry in the cafeteria, but they need better signage directing folks where to go. We followed the signs downstairs, only to be told to go upstairs to order and pay, and come back downstairs to eat. Then back upstairs to leave. This was unpleasant, to say the least, since several in our group have physical disabilities which make it difficult to climb stairs. Hopefully as time goes on, they can smooth out the ordering process. That being said, the staff was very friendly! They brought us condiments, drinks, and our food right to our table. Very nice service. It only took about 5 minutes to get our food. The food came in βto goβ boxes, however to their credit they did not use Styrofoam! Way to go Tower Grove! They were paper clam shell boxes and plastic silverware. Everyone received the same meal, there were no choices. Everyone got 2 pieces of cod, slaw, mac & cheese, pickles, a cookie, and a drink all for $10. The cod was very good. Very hot, cooked perfectly. Light and flaky inside, crispy outside. The fish was rated 3.5. The slaw and mac & cheese were average, did not appear homemade. The cookie was store bought. Drinks included were soda or water. All condiments were prepackaged. The ultra processed, prepackaged quality dropped the overall rating. Overall an average fish fry.

St. Ferdinand – Preseason kickoff – February 17, 2023
We are excited to begin the 2023 Fish Fry season at St. Ferdinand Church in Florissant. St Ferdinand earned a solid 3 fish π π π on the 5 fish scale. 13 loyal Fish Fry Research Crew members attended this fun preseason kick off. The servers seemed a little confused and disorganized serving the food. Everything was sold a la carte, and the pricing seemed high (about $15 a plate) for a fish fry. The cod is hand breaded, different shapes and sizes. Mine was not too hot, but others had very hot fish. The shrimp was excellent! Hot, crunchy on the outside and tender inside. Catfish was reportedly ok, not hot though. Chicken strips were ok, some were average, some were dry. Homemade vinegar slaw was good, green beans were tasty with bacon, hush puppies were very good, not too overcooked, spaghetti was a little spicy. They had a small selection of store bought desserts. All the plates and cups were Styrofoam (boo!). We look forward to our first official Fish Fry next week at Tower Grove Baptist Church. See you next week!

St. Gabriel – April 15, 2022
St Gabriel did it again! What a great place to wrap up the Lenten Fish Fry season. This week we had 19 Fish Fry Friday Followers join us, our biggest group of the season. Overall, once again we gave St Gabe 5 fishes on the 5 fish scale! Hands down, they have the best tasting cod we have had all season! The fried cod was hand breaded, hot, flaky, and had that great cod flavor. The baked cod had a great seasoning, it was hot, moist, and flaky. The fried shrimp were crispy, hot, and tender inside. I did not personally try the swai, but 3 friends all rated it a 5. Now, the sides brought their score down slightly. The oil/vinegar slaw was homemade and delicious. Crisp and not too sweet. The canned green beans were bland and mushy. The french fries were average (hard to get good, hot fries at these venues). The mac & cheese was pretty good and creamy and the red pasta was excellent. The hush puppies were rated poorly by everyone, they were dry and bland. Fresh baked cookies, tea, lemonade, punch, and water were all included. Although they lost a few points with the sides, the sides were all still pretty good. They earned back some points by passing out free beers while we waited in line! It was about a 30 minute wait but went pretty quickly as we had fun chatting with friends as we waited. The staff was so friendly! They gave very generous portions. And, they used real plates and real silverware. Such a great perk! We ate in a very crowded, loud school cafeteria. At first our group had to split up and all sit separately, but soon tables started opening up and our friends were able to move closer so we were at two tables next to each other. We had such an enjoyable time eating the best fish we had all year, hanging out with friends, and chatting with the volunteers. This was the perfect place to end the Fish Fry season. Thank you all for joining us on our journey to find the best Fish Fry in St Louis! Keep an eye out, we just might try and find some year-round fish fries in the off-season. And maybe try some fried chicken joints too!

SqWires – April 8, 2022
SqWires was a hit! We had 16 faithful Fish Fry Friday friends show up this week to one of our best Fish Fries this year. SqWires received 4.75 fishes on the 5 fish scale. Their fried cod was 4.5 with mixed reviews. It was hand breaded and hot, but a few people thought theirs was overcooked and dry, but mine was excellent. They also had a baked cod which was only a 3 and reportedly dry and hard. The fried shrimp was excellent β a 5 β hot and tasty. Because SqWires is also a restaurant, one of our friends (who doesnβt like fish) was able to get a delicious salad with chicken. Their sides were all excellent! The best this year and they are all homemade. There were no choices, but everyone had delicious creamy slaw, fantastic sauteed fresh green beans, and tasty homemade mashed potatoes. They also offered, for an extra cost, clam chowder and hush puppies. Also for an extra cost were huge, delicious crunchy homemade cookies and homemade apple pie. Meals included iced tea and water. A full cash bar was available. SqWires fish fries are held in their event annex. A nice spacious area, large tables with cloth tablecloths, and not too crowded. They were a little more expensive than the traditional church fish fry at $12/$17 a plate. Overall a great fish fry. We highly recommend.

Knights of Columbus, Edwardsville – April 1, 2022
Knights of Columbus in Edwardsville was quite a drive, but well worth it! We had 7 Fish Fry Friday Followers show up this week, not bad considering the distance. Overall I gave KOC 4 fishes on the 5 fish scale. They definitely had the best cod I have had this year. The cod was a 5.0, it was hand breaded, very hot, thick and flaky inside, and had that great cod flavor. The catfish and shrimp also received 5.0. Again, hot, crisp, perfectly cooked and flavorful. The sides all seemed average and store bought. The sides included slaw, green beans, french fries, mac & cheese, and hush puppies. It was nice to have hush puppies although we thought they were too sweet, we have not had any yet this year. Desserts were homemade, but cost an extra $3. A full bar was available as well. The tartar sauce was little packets on the table, but the cocktail sauce was served in little cups and was fantastic! There was a 15 minute wait to place our order. We were given a table number where we were able to sit and wait for our food. Good thing because it was another 30 minutes before we got our food! At least we were able to sit, have a drink and visit with friends while we waited. It was a big bright hall with lots of tables nicely spaced apart. They brought our food right to our table and cleared our dishes when we finished eating. Overall, KOC was an excellent Fish Fry. The fish was definitely the high point, the sides were average, and the wait was long but not so bad since we were able to sit. They do their fish fries all year round on the third Friday of every month. We would go back, especially in the summer or fall when we get a hankering for a good off-season fish fry! Join us next week when we go to a restaurant, SqWires Annex, 1415 S. 18th Street. Hope to see you there!

American Legion Hall 208, Ballwin – March 25, 2022
Another great Fish Fry tonight! This week, 11 Fish Fry Friday Followers showed up at the American Legion Hall in Ballwin. We heard great things about them, and we were not disappointed. We gave the American Legion Hall 4 fishes on the 5 fish scale. They offered hand breaded cod, jack salmon, catfish, and also shrimp, as well as fried chicken. The cod was thick and flaky, but the crust was not crispy and it was not hot. The jack salmon and catfish were both rated a 5, as was the shrimp. The shrimp was hot and tasty inside, crispy on the outside. The fried chicken was rated a 5 as well. The sides were all homemade, a rare treat! The delicious slaw was crunchy and tart, macaroni salad was a nice treat and also tasty. The spaghetti was the talk of the table and was rated a 5+. Apple sauce was also a 5, but the fries were average. Desserts were an extra charge. They offered beer and wine, and also had a full bar. Seating was at long tables in a typical AL Hall. Things that pulled their score down included an hour long wait and having to go downstairs (and up again) to get our food. In spite of their sides being homemade, they had cheap packaged tartar and cocktail sauce. Styrofoam plates and plastic cutlery also lowered the score. No menus available until you got downstairs. We found out after the fact that there were young men volunteers to stand in line for you to get your food if you were unable to stand and do the stairs. It would have been helpful to have signs indicating this amazing service. In spite of the few negatives, this was a good solid fish fry. Everyone there was very friendly, and they were open later than most. We would go back, and hope to go back in the future for their fried chicken dinners. Next week will be a journey. We are going to the Knights of Columbus in Edwardsville, IL. 7132 Marine Rd, 62025. Hope you are willing to make the drive!

Crestwood Elks – March 18, 2022
This was the most interesting and fun fish fry in a while! 13 Fish Fry Friday Followers showed up for dinner tonight at the Elks lodge, only to find out we needed to call ahead for reservations! OOPS! Oh my! The folks at the lodge were flustered when we all came in, but they checked with the kitchen and agreed to accommodate our group. How kind of them and lucky for us! We gave the Crestwood Elks 4.5 fishes on the 5 fish scale! An excellent fish fry. Their fried cod was hand breaded and cooked to perfection. It was nice and crispy on the outside and tender and flaky inside, and very hot! Delicious!! The shrimp was also rated a 5. They also offered fried swai which was also rated very good. They offered chicken tenders which were hot and tasty. For sides, they had an oil/vinegar slaw which was pretty good, nicely seasoned green beans with bacon, au gratin potatoes, and spaghetti. All of the sides were very good, hot and fresh (except the slaw which was cold and fresh!). One of the Elks members was having a birthday, and they included our little group and shared a delicious chocolate birthday cake. They used disposable plates and forks. But, they had a full cash bar, which was a pleasant bonus! We waited a little longer than usual (30 minutes) for our food, but that is because they were not expecting us. The dinner was well worth the wait! The meal was only $10. They had a nice dining hall with round tables which sat 8-10 people. They had music playing (a little too loud we thought). The staff was so friendly and helpful. They stayed open pretty late (we all left about 8:30), which was nice since we usually are kicked out by 7:00 at most fish fries. We would definitely like to try them again. They say their fried chicken dinners are the bomb! Please note if you would like to try their fish fry of fried chicken dinners, they only serve on the third Friday of the month, and you need a reservation. You can call for reservations at 314-952-8706. Oh, sorry but I forgot to take a picture this week. But it would have been a beauty! go see for yourselves! Next week, we go the the American Legion Post 208, 225 Old Sulphur Spring Road, 63021. Hope to see you there!
Queen of All Saints, Oakville – March 11, 2022
In spite of a few hiccups this afternoon with scheduling confusion, and a change in the location at the last minute, we still had 14 Fish Fry Friday Followers tonight. Queen of All Saints received 3.75 fishes on the 5 fish scale. Their βWorld Famousβ fried cod (small chunks of fish) only received 3 fishes. Although it was hand breaded with a cornmeal breading, it was overcooked and dry with very little flavor. The fried shrimp, however, was delicious; it was crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. They also served a baked cod which looked amazing. Although I did not try it, others in the group rated it 5 fishes. Sides included a creamy slaw that was pretty good, excellent seasoned green beans, french fries, very good spaghetti, and delicious applesauce. The hot food was all hot and the cold foods were all cold, which was a nice bonus. Dinners all included a freshly baked (but store bought dough) chocolate chip cookies. Bottled water and canned soda were also included, a rare treat. Beer and wine were also available for an extra cost. The location was very well marked outside, signs directing you where to go and parking lot attendants directing cars. Inside we were greeted by very friendly volunteers. There were children and adult volunteers who came to the tables asking if we needed anything and also clearing away our dishes and trash. The atmosphere was a large school cafeteria with plenty of seating and comfortable chairs. Friendly and festive, not too loud as some cafeterias can get. Overall a good solid fish fry. I would like to go again and try the baked cod. Next week we go to the Elks Lodge 2503, 10261 Bauer Rd, 63128. See you there!

Fenton American Legion Post 400 – March 4, 2022
We had 13 people show up this week and we had a great time of food and fellowship! Fenton American Legion Post scored a 3.0 on the 5 fish scale. The cod was pretty good, a solid 4.0. It was hot, crispy breading and flaky fish. The Shrimp was rated a 5. Hot and crisp. They did run out of catfish before we got there and the shrimp while we were there. They also offered chicken nuggets, which was a nice alternative for our non-fish-eating friend, however they were only rated a 2. Side Dishes included oil-vinegar slaw which was excellent. Canned and warmed green beans and βbakedβ beans were rated a 2, both were pretty bland. French fries were pretty good at a 3.5. Desserts were an extra cost and looked store-bought. No one in our group got dessert. All beverages cost extra, including water. They did offer draft beer though. Disposable plates and forks, packaged tartar sauce, and no seafood sauce for the shrimp. It was served in a hall, clean and bright. Lots of tables so there was plenty of seating. No real wait to pay or for the food. American Legion Post was a good, average fish fry. Join us next week at the Knights of Columbus in Arnold.

Knights of Columbus, Chesterfield – February 25, 2022
Our first Fish Fry of 2022 was a success! We had 8 faithful followers who braved the cold and ice to come out. It was so good to see everyone again and share a meal together. I gave Knights of Columbus overall 3 fish on the 5 fish scale. There were signs on the road indicating the fish fry, but no signs outside or inside the building directing you on where to go. As it turns out, they were in the basement cafeteria which was big, bright, and relatively modern. Big round tables and comfortable chairs were set up with plenty of available seating. All 8 of us got to sit together at one table, which was quite nice. The volunteers were very friendly and welcoming. We gave the fried cod a 3 (out of 5). It was not hot and a little bland. The shrimp also was not hot and overcooked. They also had fish tacos, rated a 4. Sides included delicious slaw, but a very small portion. Also green beans, french fries, Mac & Cheese, hush puppies, and spaghetti. They had no butter for the bread. Their tartar sauce was homemade which is a plus. But, they used Styrofoam plates and plastic utensils which were a bust. They also offered Seafood Gumbo and red beans & rice, which we did not try. Desserts were and extra cost. Water, iced tea, and lemonade were included. Everything else was a la carte. Prices not too bad, we paid $12 for a full meal. Overall, an average fish fry. It was a great place to kick off this yearβs Lenten fish fries! Next week we will be at the American Legion Post 400 in Fenton. Hope you can make it!
